London Noun produces engaging video content for English language learners and those who plan to visit London. This blog is a place of community for anyone who fits into those two categories, or possibly both. I will regularly share blog posts about the amazing people, places and businesses that are profiled on the @theLondonNoun YouTube channel, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at life in London. I will also share tips on how to effectively learn English and how to experience all that London, the greatest city in the world, has to offer.
As a qualified and experienced English language teacher, I understand the common mistakes that students make which hold them back. As a linguist who speaks one other foreign language to degree level and is trying to learn my second foreign language, I also know many techniques that can enhance language learning. I’ve also made many mistakes and hope to help you avoid making them too!
I am an avid Londonphile! I fell in love with London as a child on daytrips to the city. I moved to the capital as a university student and lived in halls in my first year, so I got to experience living in the very city centre. My favourite place in London is the Southbank. I love walking along the Thames when it’s quieter at night from the London Eye to Tower Bridge. Even after all of these years, I’m still discovering new places to visit in this ever changing city.
Thank you for reading my first blog post! If you have taken the time to watch any of the videos on the channel, then I’m extremely grateful. I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to create content that is useful, memorable and fun. Please let me know in the comments if there are any topics or places in London you would like to learn about!
